How Famewise works

  1. Generate consumer questions

For every tracked brand, Famewise generates category-level questions real consumers ask AI — the "best", "top", and "which" questions where recommendations (and brands) surface. Questions are brand-blind, so the models are never led.

  2. Ask the latest models

Each question runs against current OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude, and Google Gemini models — twice: once with web search, once without — so you see both what the model believes and what the live web adds.

  3. Extract the signal

An extraction model reads every answer and records whether your brand appeared, the position of its first mention, the sentiment toward it, every competitor named alongside it, and each source the answer cited.

  4. Snapshot, daily

Every run is a point-in-time snapshot. Dashboards always show the latest run — visibility, share of voice, sentiment, sources — with deltas against the previous run, so movement is impossible to miss.

Seven views, one question: do AI assistants recommend you?

Overview

Every KPI for the latest run on one screen: visibility rate, top brand, biggest mover, average sentiment, and web-search lift — each with run-over-run deltas.

Share of voice

Your share of all brand mentions for the questions that matter — and exactly which competitors take the rest.

Sentiment

Not just whether AI mentions you — how. The positive / neutral / negative / mixed mix, plus an average score from −1 to +1.

Sources

The domains AI cites when it answers in your category — your earned-media hit list for generative engine optimization.

Answers

Every raw answer, searchable: the exact question, the full model response, extracted mentions, and citations.

Models

GPT vs Claude vs Gemini, side by side: which models already know your brand, and which leave you out.

Web search

The same question with search on and off — how much live retrieval lifts (or hurts) your visibility.

Frequently asked questions

What is AI share of voice?

AI share of voice is the percentage of brand mentions your brand captures in AI assistant answers across a set of category questions. If AI assistants name brands 200 times across a question set and 30 of those mentions are your brand, your AI share of voice is 15%. Famewise computes it from real answers generated by ChatGPT (OpenAI GPT), Claude (Anthropic), and Gemini (Google) — not from web rankings.

How does Famewise measure brand visibility in ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini?

Famewise generates category-level consumer questions for each brand, asks them to current OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude, and Google Gemini models — each question with web search on and off — then an extraction model records whether the brand appeared, the position of its first mention, the sentiment of the mention, every competitor named, and each cited source. Every scheduled run is stored as a point-in-time snapshot, so visibility is comparable run over run.

Why do AI answers differ with web search on vs off?

Without web search, a model answers from its training data — what it remembers about your category, which can be months old. With web search, it retrieves live pages and often reshuffles its recommendations around what it just read, citing sources. Famewise asks every question both ways and reports the web-search lift: the visibility difference between the two modes. A big positive lift means your current web presence is doing the work; a negative one means live retrieval surfaces competitors instead.

Which AI models does Famewise track?

Famewise tracks current production models from OpenAI (GPT), Anthropic (Claude), and Google (Gemini), each queried with and without web search. The model list refreshes as providers ship new models, and every stored answer records the exact model version that produced it.

What is Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), and how does Famewise help?

Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is the practice of improving how often — and how favorably — a brand appears in AI-generated answers; it is the AI-era counterpart of SEO. Famewise is GEO's measurement layer: which questions surface you, where you rank, how you are framed, and, through the Sources view, which domains the models actually cite — the places where coverage changes AI answers.

How often is the data updated?

Famewise runs on a schedule — typically daily. Each run re-asks the full matrix of brand × question × model × search mode and stores a snapshot; dashboards always show the latest run, with deltas against the previous one.

Can I see competitors I don't track?

Yes. Famewise extracts every brand named in every answer, so leaderboards and share-of-voice views include organically surfaced competitors — not just the brands you registered.
